Founded in 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, KB Homes is a homebuilding company based in the United States which initially called as the name of the owners, Kaufman & Broad. The company has won numerous awards, makes it one of the most prestigious housing construction companies which listed as a Fortune 500 company through 2000-2008 and the repeatedly chosen as the “Most Admirable Homebuilder” by the same magazine. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, the KB Homes floor plans has spread all across the nation and the first United States homebuilders company to expand to French in 1967. KB Homes also popular for built a life-sized replica of The Simpson cartoon home in Henderson, Nevada in 1997 for the company promotion.

KB Homes also known for it environmental friendly homes and launched first net-zero energy home called GreenHouse in 2011 which featured as the “Idea Home” at the International Builder Show of the same year. The prototype of this KB Homes floor plans green living was design by Martha Stewart which aim to make a home designed to produce as much energy as it uses. The one-story with three bedrooms house has a 9 kilowatt solar array that integrates into the roof’s concrete tiles and has durable fiber-cement and stucco siding. The descendant of GreenHouse is the ZeroHouse 2.0 with forty solar panels which even produces as much more energy that it consumes and does not even need electrical grid to it.
